This page links to this year's documents that our Global Partners should use and outlines steps to take to facilitate MESA program recruitment operations.

1. Each year, we need to renew the agreements between MESA and our Global Partners. Please sign and return this "gp_agreement.doc" (or in the Spanish version) to MESA and we will sign and return it to you. There may be additional documentation necessary regarding financial information.
2. Review this year's schedule (here in Spanish).
3. Review and use the following materials in your recruitment of Stewards:
   1. General materials: "GP  Recruitment Materials" (and in Spanish)
   2. If the GP has offered substantial financial grants to Steward Candidates MESA suggests signing a contract between the GP organization and the recruited Stewards. This is a sample contract for you to consider using as a model.
   3. Review a sample MESA application with your Steward Candidates.
   4. Instruct Steward Candidates in the use of the online application forms (and in Spanish). (Note: Regardless of the native language of the applicant, the form should be filled out in English.)
4. Communicate with MESA regarding your Steward Candidate Applications.
5. Review the invitations your Steward Candidates receive with the Steward Candidates. This will include both a Training Plan and a Host Farm Application. Communicate with MESA regarding the Steward Candidate responses to the invitations.
6. Receive J1 Visa forms from MESA and assist your invited Steward Candidates in scheduling interviews (with a copy of the DS2019) and applying for the J1 visa at the US Embassy (with original DS2019, i901,  and a copy of the 7002).
7. Communicate the status of the Visa Application Process to MESA.
8. Assist your Steward Candidates who have received invitations and visas with their international travel arrangements.

Important Program Update:

As of September 2011, MESA no longer requires Global Partners to submit Preliminary Application Forms for their candidates. Once you have screened candidates based on MESA's recruitment criteria, please assist your nominated candidates to complete and submit MESA's online application.
