Global Agroecology Pathways Program (GAPP)
Certificate Courses & Training Abroad
Participatory Certificate Courses
In 2014, MESA launched a first-of-its-kind online platform, featuring self-paced certificate courses in Agroecology, Seed Production and Climate Resilience for over 1400 beginning farmers and food systems advocates.
Transitioning to participatory course instruction and student engagement in 2020, we continue to innovate on new courses, and often collaborate with NGO partners and groups like WWOOF-USA to complement experiential farm internships.

Training Abroad Fellowship
In 2024, MESA extended GAPP to offer training opportunities with our global partner NGOs, beginning with longtime partner the Grow Bio-intensive Center in Kenya (G-BiACK). Fellowships feature 2-4 weeks of living, sharing and training with local community members at a demonstration site abroad.
MESA is currently developing our GAPP Fellowship model, with opportunities to train with NGO partners in Colombia, Sri Lanka, Ghana and Japan in the near future. Check out the video below for a glimpse of what to expect when you become a GAPP Fellow, and join our mailing list for future Fellowship details.
