Training Abroad Fellowships
In 2024, MESA extended GAPP to offer training opportunities with our global partner NGOs, beginning with longtime partner the Grow Bio-intensive Center in Kenya (G-BiACK). Fellowships feature 2-4 weeks of living, sharing and training with local community members at a demonstration site abroad.
MESA’s GAPP Fellowship model offers transformative opportunities to train with NGO partners and alumni around the world. Review our new GAPP Japan page here, or check out the video below for a glimpse of what to expect when you become a GAPP Fellow, and join our mailing list for future Fellowship details.

Participatory Certificate Courses
In 2014, MESA launched a first-of-its-kind online platform, featuring self-paced certificate courses in Agroecology, Seed Production and Climate Resilience for beginning farmers and food systems advocates. Thousands of happy students later, we are still innovating on new course offerings for the next generation of regenerative, sustainable farmers.
Transitioning to participatory course instruction and student engagement in 2020, we continue to develop new courses, and often collaborate with NGO partners and groups like WWOOF-USA to complement experiential farm internships. Unlike many self-paced courses, MESA courses always feature participatory instruction and peer-to-peer learning.
